Where Are You God?

Day and night, I have only tears for food, while my enemies continually taunt me, saying, “Where is this God of yours?” Psalm 42:3 (NLT)

It isn’t just our enemies who are pondering the whereabouts of our God. Faithful believers who feel duped by God and stupefied by heartache and trouble ask the same question.

“Where are you, Lord?”

“Haven’t I been good?”

“Don’t you feel any sense of moral obligation toward me?”

“Aren’t you worried about how this makes you look?”

I think that difficult times would be easier to accept if I knew they were coming. I somehow convinced myself that good godly living would payoff—in a big way! I didn’t believe that God could really make something good come of something bad. When do we trust, if we never have hardship? Why do we pray if we never find ourselves at crossroads? How do we know God is real if our faith is never tested?

And when do we practice what we preach?

I have realized (after many failed attempts) that I cannot avoid hardship. I cannot pray them away or wish them away, or, even cry them away. Hardship gives me the opportunity to practice all the good things that my Amazing Father has taught me. I have joy in knowing that NOTHING can utterly destroy me!! NOTHING!

Hard times come; but so does tough faith.

Sorrow attacks us; but angels encourage us.

Life becomes overwhelming; but the Holy Spirit instructs us.

Satan taunts us and tells us that we’re neglected; and God calms and caresses us.

It is impossible for God to leave those who call upon His name. This doesn’t mean that He is obligated to move at a speedy pace that satisfies us—unfortunately (smile).

It does mean, however, that we never suffer alone, because we never walk alone. In order for God to forsake us, He would have to completely ignore the sacrifice of His Son Jesus.

The beauty of the Jesus’ resurrection is that it represented the Father’s acceptance of the Son’s sacrifice—and the Father’s acceptance of us as dear members of His Royal Family.

You are never alone!!

Where is God in the midst of your troubles?

Inside your heart—that’s the only reason you’ve been able to survive this long.

Trust me…you’re never alone.

Whatever you’re going through—you’re not going through it alone. God is there.
